FDA Cautions Consumers about Faulty Electric Toothbrushes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today issued a warning to consumers that certain electric toothbrushes can break during use, causing damage to teeth and other tissues and even present a choking hazard. Dentists should be prepared to answer questions from patients and refer them to the FDA web site.

The alert specifies the battery-powered Arm & Hammer Spinbrush.

WSU Wellbeing Fair

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth at the WSU Wellbeing fair last week! There was a great turnout. There were so many good questions asked that I thought I would share a few.

1. Q: Do you take the WSU insurance for grad students?

A: Yes, we do take the insurance, it is administered by Delta Dental and we are a Preferred Provider.

2. Q: Where is your office?

A: In Moscow, Just off of Warbonet, behind the WalMart.

3. Q: How many dentists are in your office?

A: We have 1 dentist; Dr. Kevin Henry.

We would also like to Congratulate; Janet VanNuland, she was the winner of our SoniCare toothbrush drawing.

Give Kids a Smile

BlueSky dental is pleased to announce that we will be offering free exam, cleanings, and x-rays through out the month of February for children through 6th grade who do not have dental insurance. This will be ongoing during the month of February in conjunction with the “Give Kids a Smile” program. New Year, New Fairs!

I am excited to let you all know that we will be attending the WSU Wellbeing Fair on February 7th. The event will be from 4-7pm in the WSU Recreation Center. We will also be at the UI Faculty and Staff Health Fair in the Student Union Building on March 28th from 8am-2pm. This is a new event to us as well as the university; hope to see you there! We will be there to answer any questions you may have about dental insurance or dental needs.

As we are getting closer to the Christmas Holiday I wanted to let you know that our office will be closed December 26-27th, we will be open normal office hours the rest of the month.

U of I and SEL Health and Wellness Fairs

Last week we got to participate in the SEL Health and Learning Fair and also the U of I Health and Wellness Fair. We had a great time a both and enjoyed meeting people in both the Moscow and Pullman communities. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and said hi or asked questions. We would like to CONGRATULATE; Scott James and Brittany Casperson, they were the winners of our Sonicare Toothburh drawings!

Our next outing is today, November 2nd from 6-8 at the Eastside Marketplace Family Fun Night. Hope to see you there!

2 Fairs this week October 24th-28th

We will be at 2 local health fairs this week; the SEL Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday the 26th from 12-6pm in the Schweitzer Events Center and also the Univeristy of Idaho Health Fair on the 27th from 8am-1pm in the Univeristy of Idaho Recreation Center. We will be there to answer whatever questions you may have, regarding treatment, insurance, cost, etc. We will be giving away a sonicare to one lucky person at each event; so come see us and enter to win! I hope to see you at one or both of the fairs this week!
